A group of around 100 people have taken part in a special gathering on the beach to mark Eric Morecambe's centenary year and promote the town.
'Eric on the Bay' was a performance art and photography event held on Tuesday on Morecambe South Beach near the Midland Hotel.
Volunteers lined up and became 'Erics' for the day as they did the 'Bring Me Sunshine' skip made famous by the Morecambe-born TV comedian and his partner Ernie Wise.
Morecambe Town Council said it will create "a joyful and unforgettable piece of imagery celebrating Morecambe’s most famous son".
The final images will be released soon.
From creative team Anthony Haddon and Rich Berry, Eric On The Bay was inspired by Antony Gormley’s Another Place sculpture installation on Crosby beach.
"I recently moved to Morecambe and we've been getting at least 100 people today to strike the Eric Morecambe pose," said Anthony.

"We took (everyone) up to the Eric Morecambe Statue and they all had individual portraits with Eric himself.
"I've had fun! I feel like Morecambe town has chosen Eric as their emblem, and to have someone funny as your emblem is very important nowadays. It's very important to laugh.
"There are so many comedians who have come out of this area. And I think it's testament to all these comedians that there were so many people who were up for doing this today, just to have a chuckle.
"Morecambe Town Council are going to use the pictures to advertise Morecambe so the main picture on the beach will hopefully become as iconic as Anthony Gormley's statues on Crosby Beach, maybe even more iconic, with a bit of laughter there as well.
"Everybody who's had their picture taken next to Eric will be able to go on to a website and download their picture."
Morecambe Town Council posted this on their social media:
"Eric On The Bay in progress - couldn’t have asked for better weather! Watch this space - professional results to follow!"

Residents who took part clearly enjoyed the experience.

"I've come down because I thought it would be a really fun thing to be involved in to commemorate Eric Morecambe's birthday," said Jules.
"It's classic comedy, you remember it from your childhood and people are still watching it now.
"It's brilliant to see everybody ready to join in."
Rosie from Heysham took part with her son who is seven months old soon - the youngest Eric!

"I saw it on Facebook and it's meaningful to me because my grandad actually did the Eric Morecambe skip down the aisle at my mum's wedding and it reminded me of that, so I thought we have to do it," said Rosie.
Among the Erics was Bob More, who is known for impersonating the great comedian.

This year marks the centenary of Eric Morecambe's birth and several events have been taking place in the town to mark the occasion.
Morecambe and Wise

The town came out in force on the actual day of Eric's 100th birthday - May 14 - to show how much the Morecambe and Wise star is still loved 42 years after his death.
A series of events on that day included the official unveiling of a Morecambe and Wise mural, school children singing the famous 'Bring Me Sunshine' song by the Eric Morecambe Statue, Eric-themed exhibitions and a special live broadcast by Beyond Radio.
