Lancaster residents will hold a march and rally in the city centre calling for a ceasefire in the Middle East.
The march and rally will take place on Saturday April 20, assembling in Market Square at 1pm.
The event will feature speeches, music and poetry.
Green councillor Caroline Jackson, deputy leader of Lancaster City Council, will speak at the march.
"The escalation of violence in the Middle East calls for resolution to the interconnected conflicts in the region, but first we need an immediate permanent ceasefire in Gaza," said Councillor Jackson.
“The Green Party supports a ceasefire and large scale humanitarian aid for Gaza.
"I am proud of Lancaster people standing up to be counted. This is not a time for silence about Gaza.”
The march and rally on Saturday is part of growing global protests about the violence, hunger, and inability to meet other basic human needs in Gaza.
Patrick Montague, who is helping with the protest, said: "Along with the majority of the British public, many of us in Lancaster are appalled by the death and suffering in Gaza."
Paul Speight, another local campaigner, said: “We have held regular protests in Lancaster’s Market Square every Saturday for the past six months. Many hundreds of people have already taken part in these protest gatherings which have united local residents from all faiths, beliefs and walks of life. We are determined to make our voices heard."
