Hoardings are going up ahead of the long-anticipated start of work on the Eden Project Morecambe.
Work to assemble fencing around the central Promenade land in Morecambe where the 'Bring Me Sunshine Garden' - the first part of the £100m attraction - will be created, began on Tuesday, August 25
The Eden Project charity said it "marked a new phase of progress on the landmark transformational project".
“Site hoardings going up and preparation work getting under way, signal a step change in activity as the first phase of work on the Eden Project Bring Me Sunshine Garden gets under way," said Stacey Fox, Project Engagement and Communications Manager for Eden Project Morecambe,
“It's an exciting period coinciding with the opening of Eden Project Morecambe’s Hub at the iconic Winter Gardens including our spotlight photographic exhibition and launch of our dedicated social channels.”

The Bring Me Sunshine Garden was first exhibited at the world famous 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show where it gained both the prestigious RHS Environmental Innovation Award and Silver-Guilt medal.
In June, Eden bosses said work would begin in August on the 1.5 acre free-to-enter community garden - a massively upscaled version of the original design which is being permanently relocated to Morecambe’s seafront where Eden said it will create a welcoming gateway to the main site.
The garden will feature dedicated community planting beds for people to till and enjoy alongside a showcase of resilient coastal pink, yellow and vibrant blue plantings to shape a beautifully reimagined green space connecting the sea to the land.
The garden is set to open in spring 2027 offering people a place to gather, learn and reconnect with the natural world.
It will give people an early opportunity to experience Eden Project Morecambe ahead of the main site opening in late 2028.
The Eden Project Morecambe Hub opened at the Winter Gardens theatre on August 15.
It is now open every Friday from 10am to 2pm to welcome visitors, answer questions and share project news.

Eden said that the exhibition "captures a pivotal moment of Morecambe history and reflects local creative responses to the new Eden Project" and new exhibits will be introduced in the hub to connect people with the evolving story and project impact over time.
"Our Hub offers a welcoming space for the local community - a place where people can learn more about the project, meet the team and see the model of the future site," said Stacey Fox.
"We will also be capturing people's memories of the site and their hopes for the future, ensuring local voices remain at the heart of this journey. We look forward to welcoming everyone along."

County Councillor Brian Moore, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Growth on Lancashire County Council, said: "We’re excited to see the beginning of a new phase of work for the Eden Project.
"The construction of the hoardings for the Bring Me Sunshine Garden is a visible sign of progress and marks an important step as the site starts its transformation."
Councillor Caroline Jackson, leader of Lancaster City Council, said: "The opening of the Eden Project Morecambe Hub is a significant milestone in making the Eden Project a reality.
“Community engagement has been central to the vision for Eden Project Morecambe from the very start.
"It is important that local people remain at the heart of this exciting project, which will create opportunities for our communities, support local businesses, and through enabling people to connect with the gardens and the natural environment of the Bay, have a positive impact on health and wellbeing.

Eden Project is working in partnership with Lancaster City Council, Lancashire County Council and Lancaster University and is supported by UK Government investment.
Eden said the attraction will be "an immersive visitor destination celebrating the natural rhythms, ecology and heritage of Morecambe Bay" that "will transform the central promenade into a vibrant, year-round destination, featuring striking shell-inspired structures housing immersive environments exploring humanity’s relationship with the natural world".
