A 94-year-old author and musician has announced his final public fundraising event for the hospice in Lancaster.
Tony Kadelbach will host a book signing in aid of St John's Hospice on Saturday June 7 from 11am to noon at Morecambe Library.
Mr Kadelbach's book is called 'Oh! Canada' and tells a story of discovery from the frequent visits made by the author and his late wife Iris to see family and friends in Canada.
The book is in soft back and in colour with numerous photos, and recounts their experiences and ventures to different parts of the vast country.
The book can be obtained in exchange for a suggested donation of £10 and the entire proceeds from the event will go directly to the hospice, which provides palliative care for people in the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area.
"As this is my final public fundraising event, I have engaged with various projects to raise money for the hospice over the past five years or possibly more, I would like good support for this very worthy cause, because the hospice do so much for so many people in so many ways," said Mr Kadelbach.
His new book follows his first 'One More Step Along the Road' which was dedicated to Iris, who died in 2019. The couple were married for 61 years.
His second 'That Strikes A Chord' included his reflections on a lifetime of music. Both books raised funds for the hospice.
Mr Kadelbach can also frequently be seen playing the piano in the Arndale shopping centre in Morecambe.
