Morecambe Football Club has been recognised and awarded at the annual Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards.
The Shrimps came out on top in the Matchday Hospitality Award - Small Stadium (up to 1,000 hospitality guests in total) category, beating competition from Hibernian FC and Ipswich Town to claim gold.
This award is judged on the entire matchday experience, including efficiency in pre-match, professionalism and customer service on the day with the main focus being on the catering and service experience.
The Matchday Hospitality Award is split by stadium hospitality capacity (small, medium and large). Following on from this, there is an award for the Overall Winner (taken from the total scores across the three categories to determine the best of the best).
The club was also recognised in the Overall Matchday Hospitality award, taking home silver above Manchester City and closely behind Newcastle United.
Speaking after another successful night for the Shrimps, Head of Hospitality & Events, Mike O'Brien, said: "This is fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work of all our team in the Hospitality and Events department.
"We are extremely proud of what we have achieved and we will continue our success next season."
CEO Ben Sadler was thrilled to see the Hospitality & Events team rewarded for their magnificient efforts once again.
He said: “We are incredibly proud of all of the team who deliver this experience - spanning across our hospitality, catering, commercial and stewarding departments.
"I know how hard everyone works to ensure that all of our supporters enjoy their match days with us, and this is another well deserved accolade for the team recognising the outstanding effort and service.”
The Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards, which recognises and raises the profile of the fantastic commitment of the matchday hospitality and specialist events teams that work tirelessly at stadium venues across the UK, is an annual award programme organised by Stadium Experience.
The awards were founded in 2005 by members of Stadium Experience to recognise the very best UK football stadia venues. The awards programme has since evolved to include UK rugby and cricket stadia in line with the growing membership of Stadium Experience.
All of the awards are independently judged by experienced industry experts. There are also fantastic opportunities for sponsors and suppliers interested in promoting their products and services to around 400 stadium decision makers from venues across the UK.
