An event on Saturday in Morecambe will teach people all about the tides.
The ‘Big Wave’ is being held by The Bay: A Blueprint for Recovery, a nature and wellbeing project, getting people suffering from loneliness and isolation post pandemic into nature to help their wellbeing.
The organisation is managed by Eden Project, Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Cumbria Wildlife Trust with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, and funded by People's Postcode Lottery.
The event will be joined by Jon Carter from RSPB Leighton Moss for a talk about the tidal ecosystem for birds, as well as representatives from the RNLI talking about staying safe with the tides. Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Active Lancashire, and Morecambe Library will have coastal activities to get involved with and the whole day will be accompanied by wonderful sea shanties from The Mizzen Crew. There'll be other stalls and entertainment throughout the day too.
It also marks the beginning of National Marine Week, the Wildlife Trusts celebration of our coasts and seas.
The free event starts at 11am from the Clock Tower on Morecambe Promenade.
A similar event was held back in March.
