Beyond Radio volunteer Kia Zake has revealed the good cause she will be supporting as part of a fundraising team taking on our '10 for 10 Trek'.
Kia will be one of the team taking part in a sponsored 10-mile walk to raise funds for 10 local charities or community groups as part of our 10th birthday celebrations.
The '10 for 10 Trek' on Sunday May 10, between our transmitter sites in Carnforth and Lancaster, is part of our 'Beyond Radio 10 for 10' celebratory year of events.
We are aiming to raise £1000 through JustGiving plus personal sponsorship money, which we will split between 10 local charities/community groups around the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area.
Kia, a new volunteer with Beyond Radio, will be supporting A.C.E (Achieve Change and Engagement) in Lancaster.

"A.C.E is a Lancaster-based charity that works with young people across the district, including Morecambe, Carnforth and surrounding rural areas," said Kia.
"They focus on supporting young people with their mental health, emotional wellbeing, and building resilience, particularly for those who may have experienced difficult life circumstances.
"This is something that’s really important to me, as I’m passionate about supporting young people through challenges and helping to create safe, positive environments where they feel heard and supported."
Kia will join:
Roy Ward, supporting Unique Kidz & Co
Greg Lambert, supporting Coastal Amateur Boxing Club
Rachel Banks, supporting Wolfwood Wildlife and Dog Rescue
Mat Cook, supporting Bundles of Joy
Paul Fisher, supporting Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service
Phil McGrath, who is supporting Barton Road Centre
Luke Edmondson, who is supporting Lancashire MIND
Beth Pipe, who is supporting Animal Care
Duncan Moore, who is supporting Friends of Lancaster Cemetery.

We have chosen 10 special events in the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay community to be involved in this year to help celebrate our 10th birthday.

So far the 10 for 10 has included our involvement in Lancaster's Big Spring Clean 2026, a live broadcast from Lancaster's first ever Unsigned Festival and the first ever Beyond Radio Junior Poet Laureate Competition.
Keep an eye on Beyond Radio online and our social media, and listen to Beyond Radio, for details of more '10 for 10' events.
