Police have again warned owners of mobility scooters be on their guard after more thefts in Morecambe.
Two mobility scooters were stolen from the Melling Court area of Westgate at around 11.20pm on Monday.
Police said this also happened in the West End of Morecambe on Monday night and Tuesday morning, and a suspect was in custody.
"One of the scooters was red in colour and the other one was black," said a Lancashire Police spokesperson, in a 'Stay in the Know' message sent to residents.
"One of the scooters has now been recovered but all the wires have been pulled causing significant and unnecessary damage.
"It was recovered near the football stadium on Westgate, close to where it was taken from.
"This has also happened in the West End both last night (Monday) and this morning (Tuesday), and we have one of the suspects in custody with enquiries ongoing.
"Please take any extra necessary security measures where you can."
Last week, police issued an appeal to find the owner of an abandoned mobility scooter believed to be stolen.
The mobility scooter was recovered by officers on Corringham Road, Morecambe on the afternoon of Tuesday February 3.
"We’ve also seen a recent rise in mobility scooter thefts, and believe this abandoned mobility scooter was also stolen," said a Morecambe Area Police spokesperson.
