The 'Viewing Platform ' overlooking Leapers Wood and Back Lane quarries has been officially opened.
The honour of Cutting the Ribbon fell to retired Nether Kellet Parish Councillor, George Smith who, along with fellow Councillor Ian Williams, advised and supported the venture to its completion. Councillor Rowland Parker represented Carnforth Town Council.
The platform has been built in partnership with Aggregate Industries and Tarmac quarries, and affords tremendous views over both quarries as well as magnificent panoramas over Morecambe Bay and the South Lakeland Hills.

Access to the viewing platform is from the Public Footpath between Nether Kellet and Over Kellet in Helks Wood.
