A local councillor will don the robes to become the new Lord Mayor of Bare village.
Martin Bottoms will officially become mayor at the annual Barefest village festival this Saturday (June 13).
Councillor Bottoms, who represents Bare on Lancaster City Council and Bare North on Morecambe Town Council, will take over the role from village butcher Chris Mount.
A mayor making ceremony will be held on the green at Princes Crescent, following a parade through the village streets led by another local councillor, town crier Russell Walsh.
Councillor Bottoms will become the 14th Lord Mayor of Bare, a tradition dating back to 1910.
The recipient of the annual Bare Local Hero Award will be Tony Kadelbach, fundraiser, author and musician.
The parade starts at 12.30pm and is part of a day of family activities and entertainment in Bare.
There will be entertainment and stalls on Princes Crescent and Bare Lane, with food vendors and music at the Owls Nest, and stalls and music at the Dog and Partridge.
Kids entertainment includes Steve the Magician on Princes Crescent and an Eric Morecambe Glasses Hunt, with free entry via the Bare Community Association stall next to Catherine's on the Crescent cafe.
A 'Pre-Loved but Perfect' sale will be held at Bare Village Club during the festival.
Live entertainment will come from Stormers Elite, St Mary's School Choir, Happy Feet Dancing School, Baybeat Band, Salsa XS, The Mizzen Crew, Early Darts, SAOMC and Ruby C.
There will also be music at Shackletons on Princes Crescent, from Hayden Sorrenson and Alex Parker.
A road closure will be in place from Mayfield Drive to the junction of Princes Crescent and Marine Road East during the festival.
Beyond Radio will be there to provide announcements and music on the day.
