A major crackdown on motorists driving through and parking in the pedestrian area of Lancaster city centre is under way.
Teams have issued more than 95 warnings and nine tickets after people repeatedly ignored the rules and signage, say police.
They will be out this weekend checking that all vehicles comply and understand the regulations for cars in the town centre.
Certain vehicles are not authorised to drive within the city centre due to the area being a pedestrian zone.
There is no permitted access for vehicles unless you are displaying a disabled badge and looking for parking.
Loading vehicles are permitted between 5pm and 10am.
The main areas of concern are Church Street (see below) and Market Street in the city centre. (Image from Google Street View).

Any vehicles contravening the rules may be issued with a fine of £50 or a recorded warning.
