Family have paid tribute to a "humble and gentle" Lancaster man as police continue with a murder investigation into his death.
Damian Jackson was found dead at his flat at Regent Street in Lancaster at 11.04am on Tuesday July 25.
A post-mortem established that he died of multiple injuries and police said he had been violently attacked.
Detectives have released a video clip of 50-year-old Mr Jackson's last sighting alive, going into a Lancaster supermarket two days before he was found dead.
The release of the footage came as his family paid an emotional tribute to Damian who they described as "humble and gentle".
In a statement, his family said: “The whole family is beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved son and brother.
“Damian was humble and gentle, well loved by many across Lancaster, with a great sense of humour. He is much missed by us all and his death has left an enormous hole in our lives.”
The family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
Mr Jackson’s last confirmed sighting was at 10.18am on Sunday, July 23, at the Aldi store in Aldcliffe Road, Lancaster.

“We have a large team of officers working around the clock on this investigation.
“Any piece of information - whether large or small - will be of assistance to us. We think someone in the local community will have answers.
