A shop in Morecambe town centre selling low-cost recycled furniture and appliances to people in need has closed down.
The Furniture Matters shop in the Euston Road shopping precinct closed in June, its owners announced.
The Furniture Matters service is still operational and its Morecambe depot at White Lund remains open.
“Due to rising costs, and with changes in the way people shop for goods still affecting high street stores, we took the decision to close our Morecambe shop in June," said Sam Howarth, Head of Calico Enterprise.
“We are proud to have been serving and delivering across the Lancaster and Morecambe area since 1999, and will continue to do so.
“Our goods are sold online through the local Facebook Marketplace, and can be viewed at our Newgate depot on the White Lund Industrial Estate by calling 01524 426622.
“We continue to deliver our bulky waste collection service on behalf of Lancaster City Council, and our Blackpool shop on Topping Street also remains open for business.”
Furniture Matters refurbishes unwanted white goods, furniture, appliances and other household goods, and provides them at low cost to local people in need. They also sell new white goods, appliances and furniture.
They also do house clearances and collections of big unwanted items through the bulky waste service in partnership with local councils including Lancaster City Council and Wyre Council.
Furniture Matters also offers a range of volunteering and accredited training opportunities for people who are out of work, want to develop new skills, or want to gain vital work experience.
