Organisers of the Highest Point festival in Lancaster say they hope to reveal the line up for the 2024 event very soon, after a ‘diary mishap’ caused one of the headliners they had booked to pull out.
The popular music festival in Williamson Park will run over the weekend of May 10-12, with two days of live music on the Friday and Saturday, followed by the return of the Big Family Fun Day on the Sunday.
But, there will be no Thursday event this year, as organisers focus their attention on the other two days.

A Highest Point spokesperson said: ‘’We know you are all eagerly awaiting line up news, something which we are working very hard on in the background and hope to be able to have released imminently.
‘’However, booking a line up is a long and complicated process, with many factors out of the event organiser’s hands.
‘’Highest Point had both our headliners confirmed back in Autumn 2023, however due to a diary mishap with one of the artists, we unfortunately had to start again with the Friday lineup.
‘’As one of the areas only independent festivals, unfortunately the process can take longer for us than other festivals who have group booking power and budgets well above what Highest Point could partake in.
‘’We’ve got lots of exciting things happening in 2024 that we are proud to be bringing to Lancaster and hope you will enjoy on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th May.’’
Addressing the news that there would be no Thursday slot this year, they added: ‘’A three-day festival is a huge undertaking and ultimately we do need to streamline to ensure many more years of Highest Point, an event that we absolutely love doing, but at times the journey has been a bit rough with plenty of challenges along the way.
‘’We are working our absolute hardest to get the line up out this week.

Last year’s event was headlined by Hacienda Classical, Anne-Marie and Bastille, with previous acts topping the bill including Richard Ashcroft, Clean Bandit, Kaiser Chiefs, James, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man and Sister Sledge.
