A holiday park company has been thanked after donating £100,000 to a Lancaster hospice.
Pure Leisure Group, run by leading leisure entrepreneur John Morphet, made the donation to St John's Hospice at South Lakeland Leisure Village near Carnforth.
The Slyne Road-based hospice said the money will help continue the vital palliative and end of life care they provide across North Lancashire and South Cumbria.
"As a leading provider of high-quality holiday parks and leisure experiences, Pure Leisure Group is deeply committed to supporting the communities we operate in," said a Pure Leisure Group spokesperson.
"Our portfolio includes a variety of destinations, from traditional holiday parks to luxury lodge developments, all with a focus on delivering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences.
"But beyond our business, we believe in the importance of giving back, and this donation to St John's Hospice reflects our values of care, compassion, and community.
"Our owner, John Morphet, has a longstanding commitment to charitable giving. Over the years, John has made generous donations to a variety of important causes, with St John’s Hospice being one of the key beneficiaries.
"Under his leadership, we continue to drive our company’s efforts to give back to the community, supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
"St John's Hospice plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to patients and their families, and we are honoured to contribute to their important work.
"With this £100,000 donation, we hope to help further their mission to provide outstanding end-of-life care, ensuring every patient receives the support and dignity they deserve.
"Thank you very much to all the St John's Hospice team that joined us at South Lakeland Leisure Village to commemorate this moment. At Pure Leisure Group, we believe in the power of making a positive difference, and we are looking forward to see this contribution make an impact in the community."
A St John's Hospice spokesperson said: "Thank you once again for this incredible contribution to St John's Hospice.
"This will help ensure that our work providing vital palliative and end of life care can continue in the hospice and out across the many communities that we our privileged to serve. "
Pure Leisure runs several holiday parks in the North Lancashire and Morecambe Bay area.
Mr Morphet, who is originally from the Preston area, started work on a small caravan park on his family’s farm in Westmoreland at the age of 14.
After suffering a broken back, he decided not to return to farming and instead entered the leisure industry.
In 1988 he founded South Lakeland Caravans and in 2004 Pure Leisure Group, building it into one of the leading holiday lodge and caravan park firms in the country.
