Young people in Lancaster and Morecambe continue to receive opportunities thanks to a charity set up by King Charles.
The Prince's Trust team programme runs at Morecambe and Lancaster Fire Stations, and gives 16-24 year olds who are not in employment, education or training the chance to learn skills to get them into work.
The 12-week courses include the chance to work on projects to improve the local community, as well as activities including abseiling, ghyll scrambling and canoeing, as well as training alongside fire fighters at our local fire stations.
Recently a local Prince's Trust team renovated the garden area at Morecambe Bay Primary School in Morecambe to create a forest schools area, and helped give the Gregson Centre in Lancaster's cinema room, toilets and corridors a makeover.
LISTEN to our interview with Steph Meth-Cohn, Connie Holliman and Lorna Meaghan from the Prince's Trust team programme, who visited the Beyond Radio studio last week. Steph and Lorna help to co-ordinate the programme while Connie is one of the young people who has been on the course.
The Prince's Trust was founded by the-then Prince Charles, who wanted to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK.
The Trust has now helped more than one million young people across the UK. It recently announced its intention to change its name to the King's Trust in future.
In 2022, the future King visited Morecambe Fire Station to chat to people involved in the Prince's Trust team programme.
