A free talk in Lancaster will reveal how hit Morecambe-based TV crime drama The Bay is rooted in the real-life experiences of police.
'The Bay: A Case History by Daragh Carville and Steve Bradshaw' will take place at Lancashire Police Museum at Lancaster Castle on Friday, October 3 from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
Daragh is the Lancaster-based lead writer, co-creator and executive producer of The Bay TV series, and Steve is the programme's specialist police advisor from TV Cops Ltd.
Since its launch in 2019, the ITV drama has put a major international spotlight on the Morecambe Bay area - and on the role of police family liaison officers.
Daragh and Steve (pictured below) will talk about the creation, production and reception of the series, focusing on how the programme makers work together to make sure that - as far is possible - the drama is rooted in real life police procedures and experiences.

More than five million people watched the latest series of The Bay broadcast earlier this year, according to official figures.
The Bay has gained a huge following as a fictional team of police try to solve crimes amid the beautiful and sometimes haunting backdrop of Morecambe and the surrounding area.
In the latest series, the Morecambe Murder Investigation Unit, led by DI Tony Manning (Dan Ryan) and with family liaison officer Jenn Townsend (Marsha Thomason), investigated the murder of a young student whose body was found at Glasson Dock.
As in previous series, the episodes featured many local filming locations, with scenes shot at places including Morecambe Promenade, Sunderland Point, and for the first time, inside Heysham Nuclear Power Station.
