People are invited to sign up to trek the Great Wall of China to raise funds for a Lancaster hospice on its 40th anniversary.
St John’s Hospice has unveiled details of a major fundraiser for 2026, with people invited to head to the Far East in an adventure of a lifetime.
This will be the 8th St John’s Hospice trek and the 10th year of fundraising trekking carried out by the charity, returning to The Great Wall of China, the site of the organisation's first ever trek.
The event will take place between September 5-13, 2026.
In 2016, 31 intrepid supporters walked the Great Wall over ten days, raising in excess of £100,000 for St John’s.

Fundraising treks are amazing personal challenges, giving you the chance to see the world like never before, all while supporting a local hospice.
There’s an Information Evening at St John’s on Thursday, January 30, at 6.30pm to find out more. The event takes place at the Courtyard Café at their centre on Slyne Road.
People can email Lisa Morgan at lisa.morgan@sjhospice.org.uk for more details.
Earlier this month, supporters returned from a never-to-be-forgotten trek across the Himalayas to raise £166,000 for the hospice.
The St John's Hospice trekkers are back home after 11 days in India which included a climb to peaks of 2875m in the stunning surroundings of the Indian foothills.
The team ended their trip with a visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal mausoleum in Agra.
