Lancaster University has been ranked the best university in the North West and the 12th best in the UK.
The rankings have been published in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.
Only Oxford, St Andrews, Cambridge, LSE in London, Imperial College in London, Durham, University College in London, Bath, Warwick and Edinburgh rank higher than Lancaster, which has fallen one place overall since last year's guide.
The University is also ranked second in the North West for Graduate Prospects, which ranks the percentage of graduates in highly skilled jobs or graduate-level study.
Several subjects are also ranked in the top 10 in the UK including Communication and Media Studies, Linguistics 2nd; Social Work 3rd; Art and Design 4th; Physics 5th; Creative Writing, Sports Science and Subjects Allied to Medicine 6th; Drama, Dance and Cinematics 7th; Geography and Environmental Science 9th.
