An organiser of Morecambe Pride said the 2026 event "promoted equality in a brilliant way" and was a day when people could be themselves.
Rob Mee said this year's celebration, held on Saturday, was a "fun day out".
The Morecambe Pride parade, which began at Morecambe Town Hall on Saturday morning, was followed by an afternoon of live entertainment at Alhambra Live.
Beyond Radio presented a live show from the event, hosted by Beth Pipe and Luke Edmondson.
"The event itself is absolutely brilliant," said Mr Mee, speaking to Beyond Radio on Saturday.
"It promotes equality in a brilliant way and we need more allies to come.
"There are loads of people on stage who are absolutely brilliant, so it's a fun day out.
"To a lot of people, this is the one day where they can just be themselves and there's no fear that anything bad can happen."

But Mr Mee, who runs LGBTQ+ charity Out in the Bay in Morecambe, also said that he'd personally experienced verbal abuse during the parade.
"Even on the parade today we had some incidents of people saying things and it's horrible," he said.
"People should be allowed to be people.
"I've had a couple of run-ins with religious people on the Prom so I was called a lot of names, so I'm recovering from that and trying to enjoy this."
Out in the Bay was set up almost 20 years ago.
"The reason why I set it up is because I wanted people to have a better chance of life than I had," said Rob.
"I believed that if we created a safe environment where people could be themselves, that might work better than some of the things that I've lived through."
The parade was led by samba drumming group Batala.
The Alhambra Live show included music, stalls, drag artists, and a performance from Makaton signing group Sign out Loud.
