Morecambe’s lifeboat crew was called out several times over the weekend.
On Saturday lunchtime they received had a call that three people were cut off on a sand bank on Midland Beach, just as a fast incoming tide was making its way in.
The group managed to get to safety before launch.
A spokesperson said: ‘’(This is) a reminder for all using Morecambe Bay and venturing out on the sands. The speed of the incoming tide is faster than you can run. The tide can also come in around you cutting you off from the shore.
‘’With the hot weather upon us we know there will be many visitors to the area. Please check tide times when venturing out on the bay.
‘’Ensure you’re off the sands when the tide is incoming. If anyone sees people in danger and cut off from the shore dial 999 and asked for Coastguard.
On Saturday night they were called by the Coastguard to reports of a person stuck on Denny Beck Bridge, Halton, over the River Lune.
The individual had been jumping into the river and then on last jump became trapped between two of the bridge spans.
The Inshore Rescue Hovercraft and Inshore Rescue Lifeboat were made ready to be deployed while other emergency services carried out the rescue.
Then yesterday they responded to a report that two people were cut off by the tide at Half Moon Bay, Heysham.
Nobody was found on arrival, and the call was described as having been made with good intent.
