A hiker from Morecambe who completed the famous John O'Groats to Land's End walk for a Lancaster hospice has received a special award.
Gary Taylor has been given the Shanks Pony award by the Land's End John O'Groats (LEJOG) Association - awarded to the person who achieved the best performance on foot walking the length of Great Britain.
In 2025, Gary completed the more than 900-mile walk in 36 days, seven hours and 47 minutes with no rest days, raising £7,390 for St John's Hospice in Lancaster.
Last weekend Gary was invited to a celebration event by the official LEJOG association held in Torquay.
He was voted the award winner by people around the world who have taken part in the walk.
A spokesperson for St John's Hospice said the team were all "extremely proud" of him.

Gary covered 924 miles including 50,956 feet of climbing.
If you include short breaks during most days, he walked for 319 hours or for more than 13 days.
He said the support of his wife Diane and her best friend Adele Manley, who between them managed his camper van HQ, with Adele driving over 1,850 miles, was vital to the operation.
Adele's husband John Manley, Gary's friend, was cared for by St John's Hospice in Lancaster before his death in 2024, and Gary completed the walk in his memory.
The route between Land’s End and John O’Groats is generally regarded as the longest route across the British mainland.
The first recorded trip on foot between the two landmarks took place over 150 years ago and it has since become an iconic British journey, with hundreds of people completing the challenge each year, whether on foot, by cycle, by car, or by a range of other more diverse forms of transport.
The Lands End John O’Groats Association was formed in 1983 and exists to support the journeys of its members, to promote charity fundraising through these journeys, and to act as a social community for members who have successfully completed (or who are planning to complete) the journey by any means.
