The MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale has visited a gym in the town set up in memory of a young boxing champion.
Lizzi Collinge recently paid a visit to Leo's Gym, which opened last year as a legacy of Leo Mountain.
Leo, 18, died in a road accident on the Bay Gateway in April 2025.
He was a successful young boxer for Coastal Amateur Boxing Club in Morecambe, winning the Manchester Box Cup and the under-60kg North West Title.
Leo began boxing after he experienced bullying at high school and Ms Collinge said his parents told her how the sport had improved his confidence.
She said they also spoke about how they wanted other young people to benefit from physical activity and the gym community.

“Since his death, Leo’s parents have opened Leo’s gym with the ambition to help following this tragedy," said Ms Collinge.
"They told me they’d be happy to know they have helped even one young person but I am sure they have helped numerous families and will continue to do so.
“The gym is a fantastic community space on White Lund and local businesses have supported the family, paying for equipment and sponsoring classes. This is just another example of how our business community supports local people.
“It was a real honour to meet Leo’s parents and learn about the legacy they have built for Leo.”
Leo’s Gym works with local organisations supporting young people to build confidence and give them positive activities and role models.
The gym also offers a range of classes which aim to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. Classes include self-defence, strength training and women-only classes which are designed to improve the confidence of women in gyms.
Leo’s Gym is located at 3A Whitefield Place, Westgate.
Last July, Leo's dad Lee (pictured below with Leo) spoke to Beyond Radio about his plans to honour his son through the new gym.
