Students from the Lancaster and Morecambe area have been congratulated on their A Level results.
Young people getting their results today (August 16) included Sixth Formers from Morecambe Bay Academy.
The school said they had achieved "the best results in recent history, with outstanding attainment and exceptional progress across A Level, Applied General and T Level qualifications".
Lancaster Royal Grammar School also reported "very impressive A level results"..
The year group of 214 Upper Sixth students achieved A and A* grades in 43 per cent of their exams, with 71 per cent of all results graded A*, A and B.
Amongst other exceptional achievements, 16 pupils achieved three A* grades and 6 pupils achieved 4 A* grades.
“It has been wonderful to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our fabulous Sixth Form students today," said Dr Chris Pyle, headmaster.
"We are very proud of every single one of them for their achievements.
“They should be delighted with their excellent academic results. Their extra-curricular commitment and leadership over the past two years has also been remarkable.
“These students are well placed to thrive on a huge range of opportunities ahead. It is very exciting to see them heading to university courses across the UK and overseas, to brilliant degree apprenticeships and employment. Many congratulations to each of them on their well-deserved success.”
Lancaster Girls' Grammar School posted: "It’s been so great to see everyone collect their results so far!
"Congratulations to all our Year 13s again. We’re so proud of you all!"
Lancashire County Councillor Matthew Salter, cabinet member for Education and Skills, also congratulated local students.
"I'd like to congratulate Lancashire students receiving their A-level, BTEC and T Level results today and commend you for your dedication, hard work and perseverance," said County Councillor Salter.
"We are incredibly proud of your accomplishments and are excited to see the opportunities that your talents, skills, and passions will lead to.
"Whether you choose to further your education, enter the professional world, or explore other paths, I wish you every success as you begin this new chapter in your adult lives.
"I would also like to say a huge thank you to all the education staff who have supported our young people through their study programmes.
"However, if you didn't get the grades you wanted, please do not think all is lost as you do have options and there is help available.
"You can also talk to our Talkzone advisors, who are available to talk confidentially about anything from results, to feeling low, relationships, finding work or training."
