Work is well under way on a transformation of a landmark Morecambe hotel into 14 new apartments.
The former Park Hotel will become Park Residences and work is due to be completed in summer 2027.
The former hotel and pub, which dates back to the late 19th century, is a well-known feature of the local area and is currently undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment to bring it back into active use after years of closure.
A roof replacement is being carried out and the sandstone façade being carefully restored, said developers Alexander Matthews Stays Limited, who said the renovation is with "a focus on retaining the character of the building while introducing modern, energy-efficient homes".
Councillor Margaret Pattison, mayor of Lancaster, and other West End councillors Joanne Ainscough and David Whitaker visited the site to see the progress.

“It’s great to welcome the councillors to site and show the progress being made," said Alex Potocki, managing director of Alexander Matthews Stays Limited
"This is a building that means a lot locally, and it’s important to us that we bring it back into use in a way that respects its history while giving it a strong future.”

The development includes sustainability measures such as integrated solar panels and a fully electric energy system.
Completion is targeted for June 2027.

Planning permission was granted for the scheme in 2025.
This was for 'change of use' and conversion of the former Park Hotel on Regent Road to create 14 apartments, demolish extensions at the back of the building, build a new four-storey extension and single-storey extension to the side, and create a new garden area, car park and six new terraced houses on the existing car parking area at the back of the former hotel.
The Park Hotel was originally built in 1895 by Edmond Park.
