Police are looking for a gang suspected of 20 thefts of vehicles - mainly mopeds and small motorbikes - over the last month.
Detective Inspector Adie Knowles of Lancaster Police said he was "in no doubt it's the same group of people" responsible for the thefts.
Det Insp Knowles said the 20 thefts were "mainly of mopeds and lower end powered motorbikes" and there had been six in the West End of Morecambe, two in Heysham, two on the White Lund estate, six in Morecambe town centre and five near Lancaster city centre during the past 30 days.
He also said there had been a couple of "more high powered bikes" stolen, and the number of thefts did not include reports of other motorbikes which had been "interfered with".
"They have been taken at all times of day and night, and usually been used to ride up and down quite dangerously, whether it's the cycle track or local area, and usually dumped," said Det Insp Knowles, speaking on Beyond Radio on Tuesday.
He appealed for anyone who sees someone "loitering around an unattended vehicle" to contact police, or if you see a crime in progress please call 999, and for moped owners to keep them secure and out of sight.
If you have information on these thefts, please call 101 or the confidential free Crime Stoppers line on 0800 555111.
