Sewer installation and connection works will take place in Torrisholme affecting motorists and bus services.
Low Lane will be closed from its junction with Fell Road to Kenyon Road from 8am on Monday July 22 to 5pm on Friday August 30 at the latest.
The section of road is close to Torrisholme Primary School, which is closed for the summer holidays.
Traffic will be diverted via Low Lane - Walton Avenue - Bare Lane - Lonsdale Avenue - Hawthorn Road - Low Lane and vice versa.
Bus company Stagecoach have announced their number 100 service will be diverted through Torrisholme and Bare Lane and Walton Avenue, rejoining service on Low Lane, in both directions.
