Two women were taken to hospital after a crash in Lancaster.
A police spokesman said the women, the driver and passenger of a Volkswagen, both suffered injuries after their car was in collision with another vehicle towing a trailer carrying a small digger.
The women were freed from their car by fire crews.
Police received a call to the incident, which happened in the Caton Road/Denny Beck Lane area, at around 8.40am on Monday.
Three fire engines and ambulance crews were also at the scene.
Lancaster Area Police put out a statement advising motorists to avoid Caton Road between the M6/Bay Gateway and the Denny Bank layby as the road was expected to be closed for some time.
