A dad and daughter have enjoyed a behind-the-scenes day at TV series The Bay in Morecambe after winning a prize to become extras on the show.
Geoff Forrest and Julie Cheung received the full VIP treatment as they took part in a thrilling police chase scene at The Battery, for the popular ITV crime drama filmed in the town.
Julie was the lucky winner of the chance to have a walk-on role in Series 6 of the programme, after winning a Captain's Charity Golf Day raffle at Morecambe Golf Club.
Then on July 30, Julie, the 2024 Lady Captain at the golf club, and Geoff were invited onto the set for an incredible behind-the-scenes experience.
"From the moment they arrived at the production base behind the Festival Market, they received the full VIP treatment, including their own trailer, a driver between filming locations, breakfast, costume and make-up!" said a post on the Morecambe Golf Club Facebook page.
"Their first scene involved a police chase at the Battery, where Julie and Geoff took part as extras. After 12 takes, the production team were happy with the scene!
"We don’t want to give too much away…
"But Julie has revealed that they should appear in Episode 6 when Series 6 airs next year!

"The day continued with behind-the-scenes filming at the site of the old swimming stadium, followed by lunch prepared by the on-site catering team. They then visited the beach in front of The Midland and the Stone Jetty, where the crew finished the day with a spectacular Morecambe sunset.
"Julie and Geoff were introduced to directors, producers and key members of the crew and got a fascinating insight into how much work goes into creating the show.
"With around 90 crew members working on the day, Julie said the atmosphere was incredibly professional, calm and friendly.
"A huge thank you to Julie for sharing her experience, and congratulations once again!
"Most importantly, this fantastic experience was made possible thanks to everyone who supported our Captain’s Charity Golf Day raffle, raising funds for Stanley’s Community Centre, Morecambe.
"So, when The Bay returns next year…KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED!
"You might just see Morecambe Golf Club’s very own Julie Cheung and Geoff Forrest making their TV debut!"
Since beginning on ITV1 in 2019, The Bay has gained a huge following as a fictional team of Morecambe police try to solve crimes amid the beautiful and sometimes haunting backdrop of the town and the surrounding area.
TV crews have been in town to film scenes over the summer for the hit series, which stars Marsha Thomason as DS Jenn Townsend and Daniel Ryan as DI Tony Manning (below).
