The cast and crew of Morecambe based crime drama The Bay have returned to the town this week to begin filming the new series.
Filming has started series 6, with scenes being shot at a fairground on the promenade, the shops around the Queen Street area, and inside The Lord Nelson pub.
For the new series, Morecambe’s Major Investigation Unit is back, investigating the murder of teenage foster child Logan Marsden. As tensions rise across the community, hidden connections begin to surface.
It was confirmed in November that a sixth series of drama had been commissioned by ITV.
Since beginning on ITV1 in 2019, The Bay has gained a huge following as a fictional team of Morecambe police try to solve crimes amid the beautiful and sometimes haunting backdrop of the town and the surrounding area.
The fifth series of The Bay aired on ITV1 in 2025 and starred a cast including Marsha Thomason as DS Jenn Townsend and Dan Ryan as DI Tony Manning.
The Bay was co-created and written by Lancaster-based Daragh Carville.
