A jackknifed lorry caused travel misery for motorists on the M6 between Carnforth and Kendal yesterday evening.
A HGV collided with the central reservation on northbound carriageway and crossed onto the southbound carriageway.
The incident which led to standstill traffic was first reported at around 7pm (April 24).
This resulted in the motorway being closed between J36 for Kirkby Lonsdale to J35 for Carnforth on the southbound, and lane three of the same stretch northbound.
"One lane remains closed in both directions pending emergency central reservation barrier repairs," a spokesperson from National Highways said.
