A popular baby goods shop in Lancaster has closed its doors for the final time after 20 years.
Simply Baby on North Road closed at the end of trading on Saturday (April 5), following the retirement of owner, Julie Shaw.
The shop sold baby clothes, prams, car seats, furniture, toys and other accessories.
A post from Julie on social media said: ‘’Tinged with sadness, but excited for my retirement, today was the day we locked the doors for the last time here at Simply Baby!
‘’The messages, flowers and gifts over the last month, from suppliers and customers has been overwhelming!
‘’Once again, thank you to all our lovely customers who have continued to support us over the last 20 years. It has been an absolute pleasure having our retail business located within the beautiful City of Lancaster, and I hope that everyone continues to shop local and support our high street.
‘’I would like to take a moment to thank all of my staff, past and present! You have all been amazing and I have always been proud of our Simply Baby team! I will miss you, and I wish you all the very best for the future!!
‘’Whilst the store is now closed we do have some final bits of stock to clear so please keep your eyes peeled on our social pages over the next couple of weeks as we will be posting our final clearance offers.’’
Paul Cusimano from Totally Local Lancaster, a group supporting city businesses, said it was a "huge loss for Lancaster, parents and prospective parents".
"Every aspect of the business was exemplary, and yes, I am speaking from experience," said Mr Cusimano.
"Twenty years of the highest of standards, products, product knowledge and service.
"For many years now, they have been the only baby shop in Lancaster, but that didn't matter, because they were the best!
"We want to thank Julie, whilst wishing her team all the best in their futures."
