A series of events including 'Music with the Mayor' has raised more than £37,500 for charities.
The good causes supported by Councillor Abi Mills during her year as mayor included Citizens Advice North Lancashire - with regular live music gigs raising £32,500 for them in a joint project.
In addition, Councillor Mills raised £5000 for Cancer Research, Cancercare and Smile for ME in separate events.
Her fellow Green councillors Hamish Mills and Sam Riches supported her as part of the mayoral team during her year as mayor - between May 2024 and May 2025 - and between them they attended well over 100 events across Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham and beyond.
“It has been an honour to represent Lancaster District throughout the year, meeting people from local charities, organisations and seeing all the good there is in our community," said Councillor Mills.
"Thank you to everyone who invited us to their events, and thanks also to all those who supported our charity fundraisers.”
Councillor Margaret Pattison of Labour has now donned the robes for her year as mayor of Lancaster, and will be supporting St John's Hospice and ‘Making Space’, which supports those with mental health conditions or a learning disability.
