Police in Lancaster have been highlighting a number of local incidents as part of a week dedicated to raising awareness of their work.
As part of Response Policing Week, officers on the front line have highlighted a selection of jobs they’ve attended in recent days.
They include:
• Police were called to a domestic incident and whilst police were there a violent male has attacked an officer. Male detained and interviewed about the assault. Unfortunately for that male, there was also a prison recall. He is now back in prison.
• They had a call from a member of the public who had found a two-year-old wandering on a busy main road. After a short while police reunited the young girl with her family and checks were done at the house to make sure this could not happen again.
• A vulnerable female whose partner had been arrested needed some extra support and police issued the male with a Domestic Violence Protection Notices.
• Ambulance requested police assistance with a male who was having a mental health episode. Male was taken to hospital but later absconded. A short time later police manged to catch up to the male and due to his mental health episode, police detained the male under section 136 of the Mental Health Act so he could get the support he needed.
• The Fire Service requested assistance from police due to a house fire and one person trapped. Police arrived on scene with fire and ambulance, luckily it was a small electrical fire and crews managed to get the male out of the house.
• A car failed to stop at a Give Way sign and hit another car, which flipped on its side. Police assisted fire and ambulance crews. No one was badly injured. The car which failed to stop was issued with a ticket for due care and attention.
Response Policing Week is a week dedicated to highlighting the work done by Response Police Officers all over the country.
