Man arrested on suspicion of money laundering at Lancaster station

A man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering at Lancaster train station, following an anonymous tip off from a rail passenger.

Somebody used the British Transport Police text service to report a passenger on a service acting suspiciously on Sunday.

An officer boarded the train at Lancaster, and after a conversation with the man, conducted a stop and search.

The man was then arrested on suspicion of money laundering.

Lancashire CID are now investigating and enquiries are ongoing.

Crime, anti-social behaviour and suspicious activity on the railway network can be reported anonymously by texting 61016.
