The outgoing Mayor of Lancaster has spoken of her memorable year attending more than 180 events across the area.
Councillor Margaret Pattison, who has been mayor since May 2025, will hand the robes over to her Labour colleague Councillor Colin Hartley next month.
In a report published ahead of a Lancaster City Council meeting on May 22, Councillor Pattison said it had been "an honour and privilege to serve as Mayor of Lancaster".
"This year has been a memorable and privileged year for myself and my mayoresses, my daughters Charlotte and Lucy, who alongside me enjoyed attending over 180 events, meeting with outstanding organisations and volunteers who have worked so hard for many years helping and supporting so many people," she said.
"I would like to thank my deputy mayor Councillor John Hanson who stepped in to cover me when I was not available to carry out some of my duties - you have been amazing.
"I would also like to thank my family, friends and grandchildren for all their support throughout my mayoral year.
"I would also like to thank all the officers and staff at Lancaster City Council for their support and service to me and the mayoresses during this mayoral year.
"Attending these mayoral events would not have been possible if it was not for the organising skills of Jenny Kay who has organised myself and the beadle making sure, we were there ready to enjoy the events meeting new people.
"Our first event that we attended was at Blackburn Cathedral which was a service for the Armed Forces which was so lovely thanking and remembering all who served, so moving.
"Myself and my mayoress Charlotte were so proud to lead the Lancaster Pride parade through Lancaster, we had a wonderful day."
Councillor Pattison also spoke about King Charles' visit to the city last June.

"My mayoress Charlotte and I met our King at Lancaster Castle. How the King remembers everyone’s name and career I will never know, it was a memorable day."
She also spoke about other engagements she'd taken part in during the year.
"My mayoress Lucy and I were presented by Jess from Penny Street Collectables with a beautiful crafted limited-edition vase with love and legacy by Sally Tuffin, what a wonderful day.
"The Hanging of the High Sheriff’s Shield at Lancaster Castle so colourful with most officers in uniform.
"My charities are St John’s Hospice and Making Space which included being locked up for six hours in Lancaster Castle for Jail and Bail, lucky I was with my niece Ashley as she was also raising money for St John’s Hospice where we had a fun day.

"We also held a Mayor of Lancaster charity event at the Mazuma (Mobile Stadium at) Morecambe FC, which was a great success.
"Thank you to everyone who attended, sent raffle prizes and bought raffle tickets.
"We had three fantastic vocalists - Dave Carling, Anna Pattison and the Mizzen Singers and our fabulous DJ Steve Middlesbrough who all performed free.
"To present Mr Hogg, a veteran, with his 100th birthday card and birthday present was so lovely. We had a great chat, and to present Mr Richard Brock who is 101years old with the Freedom of the City was so moving. Two wonderful gentlemen.
"To be invited out to Aalborg to support our (International) Youth Games, myself and my mayoress Charlotte. We would like to thank Chris and Paul - team leaders, we were both so proud of our teams bringing home many medals, well done."
