A disabled dog lover from Morecambe is preparing to lose her locks this summer for a very good cause.
Jean Grey will have her head completely shaved in aid of Three Dogs, a registered Morecambe charity that acts as a lifeline for struggling pet owners.
The brave fundraiser decided to take action to support the charity’s crucial mission of helping people in financial hardship, on low incomes, or experiencing homelessness or crisis, keep and care for their dogs.
By running a Doggy Bank for food and essentials and assisting with initial veterinary access, Three Dogs prevents heartbroken owners from having to surrender their pets during the cost-of-living crisis.
The head shave event will take place on Saturday June 27 at noon at Three Dogs Charity Shop, 48 Euston Road Morecambe across from the Arndale Centre.
Local people are invited to come along, cheer Jean on, and donate for much needed funds to support local people and local dogs.
"I wanted to do something drastic to grab people's attention for this amazing charity as it’s coming up to it’s second anniversary," said Jean.
"Dogs are family, and Three Dogs does incredible work keeping families together.'’
All funds raised from the event will go directly toward stocking the Three Dogs Doggy Bank and funding emergency packs for local dogs.
Donations can be made online via PayPal threefreedogs@gmail.com or dropped off directly at the event.
