Lancaster Brewery has opened a new bar in an empty retail unit to serve thirsty commuters at Lancaster Railway Station.
Last year, the company reached a deal with Network Rail to turn the space on Platform 3 into a bar, which has now opened after listed planning consent was granted by the council for the renovations.
The Tite & Locke is named after two men who played a key role in Lancaster’s railway network. William Tite designed the station back in the 1800s, while Joseph Locke created the track that we now know as the West Coast Main Line, that runs from London to Scotland.
The new bar has rooms inside and outdoor seating areas, a showpiece cellar, as well as countless nods to the station’s Victorian heritage.

Since they started trading 20 years ago, Lancaster Brewery own and operate a group of venues in Lancashire and Cumbria including the Sun Hotel & Bar, the Palatine in Morecambe, the Lancaster Spirit and Distillery Company, the Mill at Ulverston, and the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel in Barrow.
