Paintings by a Lancaster-based artist have gone on display at a leading Cumbrian restaurant after she was invited to exhibit them by the venue’s head chef.
Kyle Greenwood, who previously achieved national fame by reaching the semi-finals of MasterChef: The Professionals in 2023, invited Kasia Wilson to exhibit her work at The Fellstone at Whitbarrow, after seeing her semi-abstract landscapes and seascapes on Instagram.
Eight of her paintings will now be on show across the venue until 31 October.
Ms Wilson, who works from a studio at King Street Arts in Lancaster city centre and has previously exhibited at venues including The Storey, describes her paintings as exploring natural light, shadow, movement, atmosphere and emotion, rather than depicting individual locations.
She said: “I’m so happy and proud that Kyle invited me to bring this collection to The Fellstone. Its Lake District setting feels particularly well suited to paintings influenced by nature, light and atmosphere.
“I hope visitors enjoy discovering the pieces and seeing how they work within the surroundings of the restaurant.”
Kyle Greenwood said: “Kasia’s paintings bring another creative element to The Fellstone and complement the rugged landscape that surrounds the venue.
“Kasia’s paintings echo that mixture of tranquillity and drama, and we are really pleased to provide a setting in which guests can see her work and have the opportunity to buy the pieces, should they so wish.”
