The Prince of Wales will visit Morecambe on Friday, July 8th.
On the 125th anniversary of the Winter Gardens, Prince Charles will tour the venue, meet local community groups, and unveil a special plaque.
Later in the visit to the resort he will visit Morecambe Fire Station on Westgate to mark 21 years of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) and The Prince’s Trust jointly delivering their Team Programme.
At the Winter Gardens, he will meet volunteers from Morecambe Bay Foodbank, before a tour, accompanied by organist Peter Jepson, to see first hand the restoration work that has been carried out on the building, and meeting members of the team behind the work.
The Prince will then meet with local organisations in the main auditorium, including watching presentations from LiNa Energy and the Eden Project North.
The visit will conclude with a trip to the Royal Box, where he will unveil a plaque to mark the 125th anniversary of the Winter Gardens.
A walk along the prom to Brucciani’s famous ice cream shop will follow, before Prince Charles will return to his car and head to Morecambe Fire Station.
Here. The Prince will tour the premises, watch a short display and meet with young people who are taking part in the Prince’s Trust programme.
He will be also meet with fire service staff and Prince’s Trust representatives, before sitting down with a group of young people currently engaged in the Trust programme,
The visit will conclude with the unveiling of a plaque to mark the 21st anniversary of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and The Prince’s Trust running the team programme, and a photo opportunity with the staff.
