A special bench has been installed at a popular Heysham beauty spot to offer a ‘calm space’ for users.
The Hope Bench was installed on Thursday at Half Moon Bay in Heysham, as part of a local project to install a number of them in the district.
The idea of the bench is to create a calm space where people can pause, reflect and know that support is close by.
It follows the installation of a bench near Carlisle Bridge in Lancaster, last month.
The project was created by the Lancaster District Adult Mental Health Forum and each bench carries simple, reassuring messages for anyone who may be feeling overwhelmed, lonely or in need of a quiet moment to remind them that they’re not alone and that support is available.
