The dates for the 2027 Lancaster and Morecambe Armed Forces weekend have been revealed.
Following the success of the biggest ever Armed Forces event earlier, this month, the celebration of both the Forces community and blue light services will take place between June 18-20 next year.
The 2026 event saw throngs of people watching displays from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - with the Dakota flying over on the Saturday and the Hurricane making an appearance on the Sunday.
There was also a military parade as thousands lined the Promenade to honour serving personnel, veterans and cadets, a biker parade, a drumhead service and re-enactment firing displays outside the Platform.
A drone display above the Stone Jetty was also a huge crowd-puller, while Beyond Radio provided music and announcements throughout the day on the Saturday.
A spokesperson for the organising committee said: ‘’After hitting 35,000 attendees this year, we became the North West's biggest Armed Forces event.
‘’Planning has begun and this will be something truly special.
"We learned lots of lessons this year and will improve year on year.’’
Referring to the plans to start work on the Eden Project Morecambe on the central Promenade this summer, they added: "The Eden Project have given us their full support this year and we will simply move the event left or right down the Promenade.
"A massive thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, performed, and helped make the event such a memorable occasion.
"The future is looking even bigger, bolder and better for 2027."
