A Lancaster rock band is pushing to achieve its first Top 5 UK album after reaching number 2 in the midweek charts.
Massive Wagons' new release 'Earth to Grace' is behind only Michael Ball and Alfie Boe's new release 'Together at Home' in the midweek charts released on Tuesday.
The official charts are based on sales of CDs, downloads, vinyl, audio and video streams and other formats, and are compiled by the Official Charts Company. The final chart will be announced on Friday evening.
The rock band's seventh studio album is outselling records by The Cure, Sabrina Carpenter, Primal Scream, Chapell Roan and Ed Sheeran in the Top 10.
In a post on their Facebook page, Massive Wagons said:
"OFFICIALLY NO2 IN THE @officialcharts MID WEEK CHART!! BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!!!
"If you haven’t already bought the album then this is the week to!
"You guys are the absolute BEST!! Seriously this is awesome! THANKYOU."
The band posted this message on their Facebook page:
Baz Mills, front man, said: "Big love and thanks, number 2, it's insane. Absolutely insane. We're over the moon."
The band has announced a UK tour starting in November and a European tour for 2025.
They are currently on a tour of record stores around the UK to promote the album, including a visit to their home city HMV in St Nic's Arcades last Saturday,
Their previous album 'Triggered' reached number six in the UK Album Charts in 2022, their highest position to date.
'House of Noise' reached number nine in 2020 and prior to that, 'Full Nelson' made number 16 in 2018.
The band members are Baz Mills, Adam Thistlethwaite, Stevie Holl, Adam Bouskill and Alex Thistlethwaite.
